(85% Kentucky Bourbon barrels, 10% Whiskey barrels and 5% High West Rye Barrel Blend)
This summer 2012 release of Smoked & Oaked stayed in our barrels for nearly a year before being released. Sweet bourbon, caramel, smoke and dark fruit tantalize the nose (especially in a snifter glass), while a thin layer of white foam rests on top of the cloudy, unfiltered dark ruby and bronze colored beer. Ripened stone fruit, caramel bourbon flavors and scotch whiskey play on the palette with just a hint of cherry smoke and faint flavors of sherry. This beer drinks with a thick mouth-feel, but remains very approachable for a 10% beer. Enjoy by itself after a hearty meal, or with devil's food cake or custard deserts.
