Early on in the brewing process, we use heaping mounds of artisanal coffee and cacao nibs.

 

Then, we dose Grandma Van’s Candy Cane Stout with precise amounts of pungent peppermint to bring out a smooth aftertaste with every sip.

Not unlike Grandma Van, we know that meticulous measurements of each ingredient is what makes any recipe great. You won’t find an overpowering aroma or a indistinguishable flavor in this stout, rather a homogeneous blend of chocolate & peppermint that will overcome you with the warmth of holiday spirit.

Everybody has a passion for something, and today we share that passion. This stout is dedicated to peppermint aficionados, beer geeks, dessert lovers, and grandmas everywhere.

 

Marshmallow Peppermint Dessert Recipe

Ingredients

  • Approx 14-20 chocolate wafers

  • ½ pt heavy whipping cream

  • 1 ¼ cups mini marshmellows

  • ½ cup crushed peppermint candies

  • 8x8 pan

Instructions

  1. Crush wafers into small pieces and spread half on the bottom of an 8x8 pan. Reserve remaining wafer pieces.

  2. Whip heavy cream until thick.

  3. Fold in the crushed peppermint candy and marshmallows into the whipped cream.

  4. Spread the whipped cream, candy & marshmallow mixture over the crushed chocolate wafers in the pan.

  5. Top with remaining chocolate wafers.

  6. Cover & refrigerate overnight.

This is the back side of the recipe card as written by Grandma Van – probably mid to late 1950’s. Although Van passed away in 1994, she continues to bring smiles to people’s faces with a mouthwatering peppermint marshmallow dessert and now a delicious candy cane stout.
